Donations

A donation is money you have actually received. That distinction matters: a promise to give is a pledge, and counting one as income you already hold double-counts your year.

Every donation should answer three questions beyond the amount:

• Where does it go? The designation, or fund.
• What drive is it part of? The campaign.
• What prompted it? The appeal.

Capture those at entry. They cannot be reconstructed reliably afterwards.
