Record a company, foundation, club or trust as a donor in its own right.
Corporate gifts, foundation grants and club donations belong to the organization, not to whoever signed the check. Recording them as an organization keeps the giving history with the entity that will give again next year, even when the contact person changes.
Open Donors, click Add, and set Profile Type to Organization.
Fill in Organization and, if you have it, Website.
The personal name fields stay available and are worth using for your contact there — the person who signs off the gift. The record still belongs to the organization, so the giving history survives that contact moving on.
Phone, Email and Address work exactly as they do for an individual.
Click Save, close the form, and search for the organization by name.
